Teacher Education in Lifelong Learning (TELL) research network update October 2018
Twitter hashtag #TELLResearch
Hi to all, and I’m happy to be putting out a short update during this #LoveOurColleges week. Do take a look at this twitter hashtag to see how much support for FE there is out there.
FREE TELL NETWORK MEETINGS FOR 2018/19
We now have three meeting dates booked for 2018/19.
We would still like to run a meeting in April or May, so offers from different geographical areas from those where we already have meetings would be welcome.
- Providing a venue, room and catering free of charge for the day (always easier if it is easy to get to by road and public transport).
- The timings and agenda are usually as below.
11.00 Introductions – programme for the day
11.15 Keynote or topic for discussion
12.00 Research showcase #1 (30m)
13.00 Research showcase continued (4 x 30m sessions)
- You can provide a theme, speakers and contributors who wish to showcase their research ideas, data or publications, combine with an event (CPD day / partnership day) of your own, or of another network.
- I also put out a call for contributions to the TELL network and via twitter.
- You can manage bookings or I can.
- Attendees do not need to be TELL members, just interested in networking with others about research.
It’s a very supportive atmosphere to share your research and ideas whatever field you are researching, or at whatever level. There is no theme or topic which will be irrelevant. We have had professors and very new researchers contribute. It is even possible to contribute to more than one meeting, subject to the overall amount of offers received.
Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would be interested in hosting.
The three FREE TELL network meetings scheduled for 2018/19 are:

PUBLICATIONS BY TELL MEMBERS
Thanks to Kevin Orr for details of the Gatsby-funded project on subject-specialist pedagogy. A pdf of the literature review on subject-specialist pedagogy is attached, and the link to the project page is below. This link will lead you to the web-based resources. There will soon be four routes through these materials but currently the route for trainee teachers is available.
Please do share these with your colleagues and colleges. We are keen to receive any feedback on the resources so that we may improve them and please feel free to disseminate the link and pdf to anyone you think might be interested, too.
