Hi to all and I hope you have all had a good (and not too busy) start to the year! Here is the first, brief update of 2018/19.

FREE TELL NETWORK MEETINGS FOR 2018/19 – OFFERS TO HOST PLEASE

If you would like to host a TELL network meeting, please let me know, as we will not have meetings otherwise

Hosting usually involves providing a venue free of charge (always easier if it is easy to get to by road and public transport) making a room available, and providing catering (also free of charge) for a day with timings usually of 11-3.00, and if you wish providing a theme, speakers and contributors who wish to showcase their research ideas, data or publications, or even combine with an event of your own.

It’s a very supportive atmosphere to share your research and ideas whatever field you are researching, or at whatever level. There is no theme or topic which will be irrelevant. We have had professors and very new researchers contribute. It is even possible to contribute to more than one meeting, subject to the overall amount of offers received.

Just email me at j.crawley@bathspa.ac.uk with your proposed hoisting offer and / or contribution/s.

There is already one meeting scheduled, in July 2019

3rd JULY 2019 ASHTON-UNDER-LYNE

Ashton Sixth Form College, Darnton Road, Ashton-under-Lyne, OL6 9RL

More details in due course.

SOCIETY FOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING (SET) MEMBERSHIP OFFER

I have been asked by the Society for Education and Training (SET) if TELL could help to get the message out as widely as we can to the sector to promote free membership of SET for all individuals undertaking an initial teaching qualification (level 3 and above).

This is an initiative I’m happy to support, and hope you will also do so by passing on the details if you do not have the already.

Student members will benefit from a comprehensive range of benefits to help them in their studies and aspirations toward a career in the profession. For those eligible (level 5 and above) they will then be able to become full members and undertake QTLS. See https://set.et-foundation.co.uk/membership/free-student-membership-offer/
